Description:
A round of applause for this beautiful code #D8 - 1938 Dodge Brothers - 2-door business coupe which has a glowing green paint job over a custom tan interior. To power this beauty is a reliable V-6 Buick power plant mated to an automatic transmission. Options and accessories include power steering, power brakes, bumper guards, dual windshield wipers, air conditioning, tilt steering wheel, AM/FM radio with a Cassette tape and much more. Bright work is beautiful as well as those wheels, hubcaps and hood ornament. The suspension has been brought up to date as well as a modern brake system. The Dodge brothers, John and Horace, founded their automobile company in 1900. They started their careers by assisting other automotive manufactures in Detroit. Horace became frustrated with relying on other manufactures for his livelihood so in 1914 they introduced their new model, code named #30. From this point on they built their own cars and called them the Dodge Brothers. Due to medical problems they both passed away a few years later. But their name lives on. 8 years later Chrysler purchased the Dodge Brothers name, assets, tools and designs and began building Dodges again. Up until this time their cars consisted of a 2-box design, not attractive and very heavy. In 1934 we began to see a more streamlined design and sales started to pick up. 4 years later we see this beautiful 1938 - 2-door business coupe. This model and 9 other designs propelled them to a new level of respect in Detroit. The body length was increased approximately 12' but the wheelbase remained the same at 115' in 1938. Take a look at these photographs that Streetside Classics has taken and start at the front end and notice how long it is. Follow those sweeping lines to the slanting rear end. Everyone in those days called this flowing and attractive. A lot of attention was given to the interior too. Notice all the chrome and brass bezel rings around all of those gauges. And then center plate. The owner has taken this interior to the next level by adding modern tilt steering wheel, bucket seats, air conditioning and radio. This all steel, 1938 Dodge Brothers 2-door Business Coupe is a spectacular example of what can be done to the old Detroit iron. All panels appear to be original with a paint job that has an 'In your face' look. You will be noticed at any car show or on the road. To duplicate this Dodge Brothers car would cost an awful lot of money and time. But you can have it today. Look over the photographs and call us for a walk through.
