Description: 1942Buick Super This is a very nice car! All the chrome is in good condition and is original. Car runs very, very good and 99%of it is original. Everything is in good, working order- just as it was when it came from the factory. In 1942, Buick drastically restyled their passenger car line, using broad, graceful fenders that flowed into the front doors. The Super line featured 'airfoil' styling where the front fenders tapered downward along the body sides, coming to a point at the base of the rear fenders and then sweeping up again from there. The look is nothing short of gorgeous. Unfortunately, hostilities in Europe ended Buick passenger car production on February 2, 1942. Buick converted its manufacturing to aircraft engines and Hellcat tank destroyers in February, 1942. Buick cars would not be built until 1946 again, when the 1946 models were actually 1942 models, with new serial numbers. It is because of this, that there were very few of these made. Owner has all the original books and papers on the car. Also included is beautiful book on all Buick 42's, complete with pictures and full of history.
