1940 Ford Standard Fordor An all-Henry steel exceptionally straight 40 restorod with room for the kids or friends. This car has been built over the past 10 years with utmost care and will withstand the most critical of inspections. A 350 Chevy crate motor with an Isky 270 cam, Isky roller rockers, Hooker headers, Mallory ignition, Edelbrock 600 CFM carb, Edelbrock Performer enduroshine intake manifold and an electric fuel pump finished off with Edelbrock Elite valve covers and air cleaner, chrome alternator, brackets, etc. with recent custom wiring. The drive train has less than 8,000 miles since installed. The transmission is a GM 200 4R 4 speed with a B&M adjustable converter lockup, built and installed in 2009. At the same time, we installed a 9 inch Ford rear with 3.70 posi. Front suspension is Chassis Engineering Mustang-type with power rack and pinion steering, tube shocks and sway bar stopped by GM power disc brakes. Rear suspension is Chassis Engineering parallel leaf with sway bar and tube shocks and Ford pickup drum brakes. The radiator is a custom handmade aluminum with Spal thermostatic controlled electric fan. Beautiful black lacquer paint job with all steel wheels by Wheelsmith of Santa Ana. Correct trim and hub cups with 1.95's in the front and 2.25's on the rear. The interior is LeBaron-Bonney in like new condition and is very close to original design. An Alpine stereo is in the glove box with a 4 speaker system backed up by 2-250 watt amps mounted under the front seats. All original gauges operate with an accurate rebuilt original speedo. Deluxe glove box lid with working repro clock. The repro steering column has built-in self-cancelling turn signals topped off with a Grant banjo wheel. Fully finished, carpeted trunk with spare cover and battery box. New tempered and tinted glass throughout the car. This is the ultimate family cruiser with 4 seat belts and safety pin locks on the rear doors. No surprise openings here! A great freeway driver with a great ride, safe handling incredible stopping power and good mileage. And, with the horsepower and the 4 speed overdrive tranny, you'll keep up with any traffic ...and occassionally pop the eyelids of that smug Porsche driver.
