1952 Chevrolet 3800

Price: 9500.00

Location: Henniker, New Hampshire 03242

Mileage: 2300.00

Description:
1952 Chevy 3800 Series 1 Ton Pickup with a 1954 3100 Series Cab A very solid truck, the odometer displays 2378, but the true mileage is unknown (TMU). The trucks starts right up and runs well.UNDER THE HOOD, CHASSIS, & MECHANICAL:It has a 1947 216 CI inline 6 cylinder engine, with a 4 speed floor shift. It has a solid frame, with mostly surface rust. Someone converted the electrical system to a 12 volt, so it has an alternator and only the ammeter works in the cluster. It has excellent brake shoes and drums & a functioning parking brake. The drive train is solid, as are the U- joints. Some of the rubber lines underneath appear to be non-standard service replacements.INTERIOR: The dome light works. The vacuum wipers work, though are slow and may indicate a loss of vacuum somewhere between the vacuum can and the wipers. The Grote turn signal is an add-on and comes with four way flashers. The ignition has been modified, eliminating the standard ignition switch and key, replaced with a regular house wall switch. The glove box has neither latching mechanism, nor any glove compartment lamp switch. The passenger door lacks a window knob, and there are no floor mats, arm rests, visors, and the front half of the headliner is missing. The hole in the drivers side seat has tape over it. The cowl vent works, and responds mechanically with that classic Chevy ratchet sound. The drivers side glass has two parallel cracks, running northeast to southwest. It, and the passenger window, are non-dated service replacements. This truck did not come with the optional corner windows. The other 4 pieces of glass are all date coded. The rear window and the windshield, especially, are somewhat opaque and cloudy around the perimeter. There are two small holes in the cab floor, and the floor shows sign of some earlier sheet metal work. The battery needs the proper tie down piece. EXTERIOR:It has four very decent 16' tires, mounted on newer rims, plus a never mounted or used 5th tire. In places, the paint has begun to crack and lift. The drivers side tie rod end is worn and will need replacing and there is a small amount of play in the front spring shackles. There are holes in the drivers side door pillar where the outside mirror once was. The front hood ornament is incorrect, having the Bow Tie at the top of the ornament, instead of the bottom. This truck has no Series Call Outs on each side of the hood, rather it has CHEVROLET. The grill is in very good condition. The running boards are solid, also in good condition.TRUCK BED:The truck comes with the front bed piece, tail gate, fenders and side pieces, and all are from what I believe to be the '54 Series 3100 truck bed. To properly complete the bed, the longer side pieces will be necessary to accommodate the longer 3800 frame. There is NO bed wood or bed rails. While mostly solid, these existing bed pieces will need some work. *The bed presently mounted on the truck is NOT included with this sale and will be removed prior to shipment.PARTS:This truck comes with extra parts: An extra 235 CI motor, an extra 235 CI block, two tailgates, two bumpers, two distributors, some wheel hubs, a 6 volt distributor cap, and a couple of fuel pumps.
