| Description: This camera-ready 1956 Ford Fairlane Sunliner 2-door convertible is powered by a 292cid Y-block V-8 engine with power going through a 3-speed Ford-o-matic transmission and power to the rear wheels via a 3.22:1 gear set. If you like black take a look at this Raven Black code A with black over white vinyl interior. When this beauty came off the line on the 5th of October of 1956 most every option in the parts bin was on the line, ready for assembly. Some included a power convertible top, bumper guards for the front and rear bumpers, continental kit, fender skirts, wire spoke wheel covers, back up lights, heater, a 5-push button AM radio, those iconic dual chrome outside spot lights. And there was one more option that was new for 1956. It was called the 'Lifeguard Safety Package.' This package included a deep-dish 18' dia. energy absorbing steering wheel, double grip door latches, seat belts, breakaway rear view mirror, padded dash and sun visors. Motor Trend recognized the Lifeguard Safety Package as the years 'most significant advancement.' This Sunliner was Detroit's best selling convertible in 1956. It outsold all other manufactures that produced convertibles in Detroit. We all know about the many colors that were available in 1956 but what a lot of people do not know is there were 25 interior color combinations available for this year. This black over white was very popular. The stainless steel trim, chrome and glass are all in beautiful condition. The experts are giving the paint and the beautifully done interior a #8. The black convertible top fits like new and with a clear back window. This is the epitome of what the mid-fifties represented. Ford advertised cars like this as saying, 'Head out to the golf course in your new 1956 Ford Fairlane.' This was the total package of the day and fortunately it still is the total package today. You can take this car your local car shows and really turn heads, take home 'Best of show' or take to the back roads of America and let her experience the twists and turns again. With 1956 being the last year of the 1st generation many will argue that this car represents the last of the true 'classic' Fords and is in many ways, the epitome of what a Ford is suppose to be. If you are looking for a fun car that will prove to be a time-tested investment, there are few better places to invest your money, yet alone, enjoy it than with this Sunliner. These cars have always been some of the most sought after cars by collectors and for good reason. Many Sunliners are only offered at prestigious car auctions today.
