1955 Mercury Montclair 2DR Hardtop 292CC V-8 Mercomatic Transmission The car was originally sold in Tennessee. I found some rust in the driver___s side floor pan and in the trunk area. These sections were replaced. The undercarriage was then undercoated. Many major components were replaced including the exhaust system, shocks, gas tank, distributor, ignition wiring and a 12 volt electrical system with an alternator was installed. The front end was also rebuilt. The engine received a complete overhaul. The carburetor was rebuilt. The cooling system components were replaced and the radiator rodded and cored. The car was painted in January 2007. The front and rear bumpers, the inner and outer door handles, interior trim, hood and trunk indignias were all re-chromed. Much of the body stainless was replaced; then polished. Only the stainless trim around the windows were not removed for polishing. These items were polished on the car. All insignias, emblems and lenses are new. The interior of the vehicle was completely replaced; including the headliner, door panels, kick panels, seat covers and carpet. The trunk was also lined with carpet. The rims were sandblasted, the powder coated. The tires are ne Firestone 7:10x15 whitewall tires which are corrected for this model.
