Description: 1967Buick Skylark!!! This is a classic! 1000 miles on new 455 Oldsmobile engine, new 3-speed manual transmission, new suspension, Edelbrock carburetor, Hooker heads, Flowmaster exhaust, everything works. Gorgeous! The history:I have always loved old cars but since I am a woman they seemed to be out of my reach unless I had a mechanic boy friend. I knew this but when I bought the car I didn__t know that Matthew, my crazy boy friend who said he would help me get an old car, would then become my husband. This car has been a labor of love and It is hard to translate into dollars how much it is worth to me. I named it Rocinante because it was my stallion and driving it has always given me a sense of happiness and freedom in the world. The pictures only tell part of the story__driving it is a whole different thing. This car was designed to cruise and make you feel good. I guarantee that. The process of restoration was approached like an art project, from my part. We worked as a team in which Matt was in charge of the mechanics and I was in charge of the aesthetics, even though we both worked on everything equally and learned from each other in the process. This is an old car getting older and will never be perfect as new cars are, but the feeling that driving and owning this car gives you is probably only known by those of you who already own a classic car.In a way, this car is to me like my first baby with my husband (and I don__t mean to be disrespectful with all the mothers out there) because it made us realize that we could work as a team, learn, grow and have fun at the same time; and even though I don__t have children yet that is the utopist idea I have of it.
