The car is a Baroque Gold metallic 1968Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham four door luxury sedan and is equipped with its original V8 driveline. The vehicle's serial number is #P8315806 and the car is presently plated with a pair of valid Onrario license plates which read 926HCA. The odometer reading on the vehicle at the time of my inspection was 51,362 miles. This vehicle is a very clean and solid example of the full-sized Fleetwood Brougham four door luxury sedan which was produced by the Cadillac Motor Division of General Motors. The cars were produced for sale throughout the North American dealer distribution netrwork. The Fleetwood was built using a combination of standard and limousine luxury components. This particular car is reported to be a Florida car which was brought up to Ontario prior to the owner's purchase ten years ago. The car has been well cared for over the years with regular attention to both its cosmetic and mechanical components. The outer body of the vehicle is made up of the large steel bodypanels which have been nicely refinished in the Baroque Gold metallic body colour. The paint has a clean shine and is nicely accented by the padded black vinyl roofcovering. The exterior chrome and stainless trimpieces are all in place with no problems to be seen. The vehicle is used sparingly for summer pleasure driving and local old-car events. The car is stored away when, not in use and during the inclement winter months. The car has been oil-coated in the past. This should be continued to ensure its solidity in the years to come. The front left fender panel is a unit which is solid and nicely coated in the gold body colour. The paint has a clean shine and is free from marks or problems. The front of the panel has the chromed steel bumper unit wrapped around its lower portion. There is also a clear-lensed market light built into the front of the fender. This unit has a chromed bezel around it. The front wheel opening is solid with the factory stainless wheelarch moulding trimming its outer edge. The steal inner fender panel is also solid with black enamel sealer applied. The rear of the panel has the body finish and letters spelling Fleetwood applied to its exterior. The lower rocker is solid with a wide stainless trimplate over its front. This runs between the two wheel opening with no marks in its surfaces. The left front doorpanel is another factory steel panel which has been nicely refinished in the gold body colour. The paint has the same clean shine is free from marks or problems. The inner doorjambs and the door opening itself have also been detailed in the body finish with full rubber seals noted. The door is solidly mounted to its two hinges. The upper portion of the door has s small vent and roll-down side window in place. The base of these two deeptinted panels has factory stainless moulding in place. The rear view mirror is a chromed steel unit which has been solidly mounted to its base. The doorhandle is aslo chromed steel with lock located beneath it. The lower door edge and the rocker beneath it are both solid with the gold finish applied. The wide stainless trimplate continues across the front of the rocker with no marks in its surfaces. The left rear doorpanel is again a factory steel unit which is solid and coated in the gold body colour. The paint is clean with no marks or problems to be seen. The inner door jambs and the opening are again coated in the gold finish with full rubber seals noted. The door was easily opened and closed with no play in its two hinges. The upper portion of the door has another roll-down and pillar window in place. These are again deeptinted with film and trimmed with a stainless bottom moulding. The doorhandle is a matching chrome steel unit which is clean and functional. The lower door edge and the rocker beneath it are both solid with the body finish applied. The stainless trimplate continues across the front of the panel with no marks in its surfaces. The left rear quarter panel is another large heavy steel panel which is straight and nicely coated in the gold body colour. The paint has the same clean appearance and is free from marks or chips. The lower rocker trimplate runs to the front of the rear wheel opening. This rear openning has a factory steel fender skirt bolted in place. This unit is body coloured with a stainless moulding along its bottom edge. The steel inner fender panel is solid with black enamel sealer applied. The upper front of the panel has the padded black vinyl material along the roof pillar. The base of this pillar is trimmed with a black vinyl moulding. The rear of the panel along the roof pillar. The base of this pillar is trimmed with a black vinyl moulding. The rear of the panel has another section of the wide stainless rocker trim in place. The rear is capped with the chromed outer bumper piece. This unit is clean with the red-lensed marker integrated into its center. The rear of the car is solid and clean with all of the factory pieces in place. The rear bumper is a three-piece unit which is made up of the rear quarter panel caps and lower horizontal center section. There are all clean and show no problems with their chrome finish. The center of the lower bumper has the rear license plate recessed into it. There are body coloured trimpanels on either side of the plate. The right side trimpanel has another Fleetwood name in place. The red-lensed tailights are built into the centres of the quarter cap panels. These units are clean and functional. The remainder of the rear portion is made up of the steel trunklid which is coated in the gold body colour. The rear of the lid has a swivel cover over the trunklock. The lid was easily opened and closed with no play in its two hinges. The outer edges of the trunk opening are detailed in the body finish with full rubber seals noted. The inner trunk compartment is again clean and solid. The steel side and floorpanels have all been coated in black enamel sealer. The owner has had the compartment covered in black pile carpeting which was aslo used to cover the full-sized spare tire unit. There were no signs of moisture or leaks noted inside the compartment at this time. The right side of the vehicle is again clean and solid. The steel bodypanels are all coated in the gold body colour. There were no marks or problems to be seen. The front and rear wheel opening are again solid with a matching steel fenderskirt at the rear. The skirt is body coloured with the narrow stainless moulding trimming its bottom. The two steel inner fender panels are both solid with a matching wide stainless trimplate. The right side doorpanels are both solidly mounted to their hinges. The inner doorjambs and the door openings are both solid as well. The upper rear of the front fender panel has the power radio aerial built into it. This unit is clean with a chromed grommet around its base. The other trimpieces and fixtures duplicate those noted in the left side of the vehicle. The front of the car id again clean and original in its condition. The front bumper is another heavy chromed steel unit which has been solidly mounted to its brackets. The centre of the bumper has the front licence plate in place. The four round headlights are stacked in pairs at the fender panels. These units have chromed bezels around their edges. The turn signnal lights are mounted inboard of the headlamps with their owner chromed bezels. The grill is a deluxe chromed unit which is trimmed with an upper edge moulding. The hood is the factory heavy steel unit which is coated in the gold body colour. The hood was easily opened and closed with no play in its two hinges. The rear of the hood is curved up and vented. This allows the interior vent intakes and wipers to be kept out of sight. The front windshield is a tinted safety plate unit which has been properly mounted in its opening. The outer edges of the opening are trimmed with stainless mouldings. The side and rear window panels are also tinted safety plate units which are free from marks or scratches. The roof of the vehicle is the vehicle is the four door hardtop roofline. This is coated in the optional black padded vinyl covering. The roof material and moulding are all in very good condition. There are full stainless drip rail along the outer edges of the roof which help to deflect the inclement weather from inside of the car. The car is equipment with a set of four new Remington Cushion-Aire Polyyester belted tires. These units are all G78-15's with wide walls showing. The tires are mounted on a set of four 15'' stamped steel wheels which are coated in black enarnel. These units have full Cadillac wheelcovers in place. The tires and covers are in very good condition with no marks or treadwear problems to be seen. The engine compartment of the vehicle is again clean and original in its condition. The steel inner fender and firewall panels are all coated in the correct eggshell black enamel. The motor is the original Cadillac 472 cubic inch V-8 which was factory rated at 375 horsepower. The motor has been left totally stock with regular servicing over the years. The motor is made up of a cast iron block and cylinder heads which are coated in dark blue high heat enamel. The top of the motor has a cat iron four barrel intake manifold and carburetor. These are topped with stock air cleaner. This unit has a gold lid. The top of the cylinder are connected to the full single muffler and tailpipe. The ignition is the original single point distributor and coil with replacement wires noted. The stock heavy duty cooling and charging system pieces are also located inside the compartment. The power steering brake and air conditioning component are also in place and working properly at this time. The motor is connected to its original Turbo 400 automatic transmission. This is a heavy duty three speed automatic which is in clean and smooth working order. The motor was easily started and runs smoothly upon firing. The combination of large displacement V8 power and automatic transmission reliability makes the vehicle both responsive and pleasant to drive. The owner has done a very nice job of cleaning and detailing all of the compartment. The interior of the vehicle is the original Light Beige Dustan cloth. This consists of a pair of full bench seats which are trimmed in a tan vinyl with beige/gold cloth fronts. The two seats are both clean with no marks or probems to be seen. These units also have fold-down armrests in their centres. The rear of the front bench unit has a pair of fold-down footrests built into its lower portion. There are also storage pouches integrated into the backs of the front seat units. The doorpanels are the original gold vinyl units which have woodgrained panels in place. These units also have moulded armrests in their centres with power window and doorlock controls built into their tips. The original courtesy light lamps are also located on these panels. The dash is a gold moulded plastic unit which house the instruments and controls in its front face. These included a 120mph speedorrieter, fuel and temperature guages. The centre of the dash has the factory clock and AM/FM stereo radio in place. The heater air condition controls are also in place and working smoothly at this time. The steering wheel is the original brown moulded plastic unit which is solidly mounted to its column. The shifter lever is also in place on the right side of the column. The floor of the compartment are covered in gold pile carpeting with full Cadillac mats in the footwells. The underside of the roof has a tan plush pile headliner in place. The original courtesy light and deluxe seatbelt packages are in place. The compartment is again clean and very tidy in its condition. There were no problems noted or expected with the owner's attention to the materials. The underside of the vehicle is solid and clean. The full steel frame and all of the floorpanels are coated in black enamel sealer. The owner has also oil coated the vehicle regularly over the years. There were no signs of rust or accident repair work noted beneath the car. The full single exhaust system is solidly mounted to its hangers with a healthy note at the idle. The brakes are the original four wheel drums. These are power assisted as was the steering. The stock suspension and rear carrier units are in place and working smoothly.
