This 1964 Chevrolet C/K series 'step-side' pick-up truck is a nice presentation of the first generation pick-up trucks for Chevrolet. Power comes from the nearly indestructible straight in-line 6 cylinder stove-bolt Chevy and a 3-speed manual transmission on the column. It is painted in burgundy paint, code #524. While in for paint, nice red over gray velour seats were installed. Other than an upgraded radio unit, all interior appointments are original. The inside was not the only upgrades this Stepside received. A handsome fiberglass spare tire cover, complete with a stainless steel wrap was included along with a fresh looking oak wood bed, framed with aluminum rails was also employed. Speaking of originality, the engine bay is all original with the exception of the alternator replacing the old generator of the period. No harm done here. Options and accessories include, dual chrome outside rear mirrors, back up lights, dual exhaust system, period poverty caps and stainless steel trim rings. For the 1964 model year the cab was updated with the elimination of the dogleg 'wraparound' windshield and a new, more modern grille design, along with various interior changes. The coil-spring front suspension with rear trailing arms was retained. This truck was born in St. Louis and has been well maintained by its owners, which always adds up over the years. This truck shows a re-paint with the same color it was born with in 1964. All panels and gaps are nice and straight. The engine starts up every time, runs and drives great. A truck that you can get into and just drive knowing you will have peace of mind during the entire trip. This truck reminds me of when Glen Campbell sings - 'I love my truck.' If you are looking for this kind of truck that will get you into the truck scene again. A truck that will only appreciate in value. A truck that will put a smile on your heart, then this is the truck for you. Where else can you get this much classic American iron for this little money?
