| Description: This 1961 Ford F100 pickup resto-mod offers a lot of cool tricks under its slick turquoise skin, including a powerful small block V8, a luxurious interior fit for a Lincoln, and a road-hugging suspension that transforms the old workhorse into a serious performance machine. Ford's 1961 trucks were some of the most advanced on the road, and the crisply folded sheetmetal gave them a decidedly upscale look that customers loved. Today, however, they're notably scarce, and finding one built to the level of this truck can be a challenge. Fortunately, someone found a completely straight and rust-free example, tore it down to bare metal and rebuilt it from there. Finished in brilliant turquoise green, it's beautifully finished with crisp bodywork, smooth panels, and paint that's about a mile deep. All the trim was retained, including the cool emblems on the sides of the hood and the big block letters up front, just in case you don't know what you're looking at. The all-steel bed looks fresh out of the press, and it's clear that this was never a rusty truck. Someone obviously invested a ton of time and money here. Inside, you'll find comfortable gray leather seats borrowed from a late-model Lincoln Navigator, and it's surprising how correct they look in the truck's cab. A wide center console was fabricated between the seats, offering a pair of cup holders and giving the truck a sportier feel inside. Matching carpets look like OEM stuff, further enhancing the luxurious feel, and the dash has been painted to match. The original instrument panel is a cool stamped piece of stainless with the original speedometer in the middle and two auxiliary gauges, one on either side. Vintage Air A/C and a powerful stereo are, of course, included as they should be with any high-quality resto-mod, with all the ductwork and speakers artfully hidden out of sight. While the body may say Ford, the mechanicals say Chevrolet, with a freshly-built 350 cubic inch small block under the hood backed by a TH350 3-speed automatic and a 10-bolt rear end. It's all cradled in a 1986 Chevrolet front clip that was grafted onto the Ford's original frame, and gives the truck its easy handling, modern disc brakes, and lowered stance. An Edelbrock intake, a Holley carburetor, and a .030 overbore help build horsepower, while long-tube headers give it an awesome sound. There's a 4000 RPM stall torque converter, so performance is impressive off the line, and the snarling small block makes this old truck feel decades younger. Underneath, it's clean and rust-free, with a lot of careful workmanship that makes this reborn hauler feel like an OEM piece. It tracks down the road like a cruise missile, stops and turns like a modern car, and thanks to those staggered 17- and 20-inch Eagle alloys, looks like a million bucks. Putting a Chevy motor in a Ford is nothing new, so if you like the look, you'll love the truck. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom. For more information,
